"Cadence Music and Arts Program's (CMAP) goal is to provide family-friendly, faith-oriented artistic education throughout Central Pennsylvania and beyond. CMAP strives to provide inspiring performances and educational opportunities, particularly for nontraditional students such as homeschool or cyber school students."
Our founders, Michael & Brittney Welch, were homeschooled during their K-12 years. Many homeschooling co-ops and organizations were small and limited at that time, unable to provide higher-quality music education.
This inspired Michael & Brittney to fill that void in the homeschool sphere.
While our youth programs specifically lean toward music education,
They also provide excellent performance experiences.
While much of our music is faith-based and our rehearsal spaces/venues are churches,
We welcome members of all backgrounds.
We offer ensembles, private lessons, and group classes for youth and adults. Our adult programs are focused on improving musicianship in each member, regardless of his or her previous experience. Our youth programs are tailored for education, but we also provide multiple performance opportunities and experiences. Much of our music is faith-based, and our primary rehearsal spaces and venues are churches. Many of our members are Christians, and we maintain a traditional Christian culture, but it is important to note that we welcome members of all backgrounds. While we are popular among homeschool and cyber school students, we also accept public and private school students.
Michael and Brittney Welch founded the Wellspring Chorus in the spring of 2019, while living in central Kentucky, to provide families with wholesome,
Christian-oriented musical outlets for adults and youth alike.
In 2021, we relocated to PA, closer to Brittney’s family, and re-established the program as The Cadence Institute. And now, we're rebranded as Cadence Music & Arts Programs (CMAP), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization designed to provide uplifting, wholesome, and challenging creative outlets for families across the South Central and South-Eastern PA region.
They reside in Jonestown, PA, with their son, Alex.
